The rules in full

The clauses that decide whether you keep the account. Quoted from Maven Trading's own terms โ€” check the current version before you trade.

8 rules here break the account

Breaking one of these fails the evaluation or voids a payout outright.

Risk & drawdown

  • Trailing drawdown of 5%

    Breaks the account

Loss limit follows your highest equity, tightening as you profit. Breaching it ends the account immediately, whether or not the position later recovers.

  • Instant and Mini accounts cap floating loss at 1%

    Breaks the account

Unrealised loss across all open positions may not exceed 1% of the balance. In practice this forces tight stops and rules out wide-stop swing entries.

  • Daily loss limit of 3%

    Breaks the account

Measured from the balance at the daily reset. Floating losses on open positions count toward it the moment they occur, not when the trade is closed.

Trading style

  • News trading is permitted

You may hold through high-impact releases. Spreads widen and slippage counts toward your loss limits, so the risk is yours rather than the rule's.

  • Expert advisors are not permitted

    Breaks the account

All orders must be placed manually. Accounts found running an EA are closed without refund.

  • Positions may be held over the weekend

Weekend gaps count toward your drawdown in full. Swap charges apply from Wednesday.

Instruments

  • Crypto trades at reduced leverage of 1:2

Crypto is available outside market hours, but at a fraction of the leverage offered on FX and it is excluded from any news-trading exemption.

  • Maximum leverage of 1:100

This is the headline figure and applies to FX. Indices, commodities and crypto are each capped lower โ€” see the instruments table for the class you trade.

Payouts

  • Withdrawals are capped at $10,000 per 30 days

    Watch out

The ceiling applies regardless of account size or how much you have made. On a scaled account it can take several cycles to withdraw a good month.

  • Payouts every 14 days

The cycle runs from your last approved request, not from the calendar month. A request made early resets the clock rather than bringing the next one forward.

  • First payout after 14 days

    Watch out

Counted from the day the funded account is issued. Completed KYC is required before the first request is released.

  • A rule breach voids the payout attached to it

    Breaks the account

Requests are reviewed against the trading rules before release. A confirmed breach voids that payout, and repeat breaches close the account.

Account management

  • One funded account per trader

    Breaks the account

Accounts linked by identity documents, payment method, IP address or trading pattern are treated as one. Undisclosed duplicates are closed and their profit forfeited.

  • The account may not be shared or managed by anyone else

    Breaks the account

You must trade the account yourself. Handing credentials to a third party, including an account manager, ends the arrangement.

Prohibited practices

  • Consistency rule applies to your profit

    Watch out

No single trading day may account for an outsized share of your total profit. A day that breaches it does not necessarily fail the account, but the payout tied to it is held until reviewed.

  • High-frequency and latency arbitrage are prohibited

    Breaks the account

Strategies that depend on execution speed, price-feed delay or tick scalping are treated as exploiting the platform rather than trading it.

  • Martingale and grid strategies are prohibited

    Watch out

Doubling into a losing position, or layering a grid without a defined stop, counts as a prohibited risk strategy.

  • Cuba

Restrictions change without much notice and often depend on where you are resident rather than your nationality. Confirm with Maven Trading directly if you are close to the line.

About Maven Trading

Maven Trading has the lowest barrier to entry of any firm here: a $2,000 account costs $13, and $5,000 costs $25. For a trader who wants to test a firm's payout process with real money at stake rather than a demo, that is a genuinely useful price point. The rules are correspondingly tight. Expert advisors are not permitted at all. A 20% consistency rule applies to instant and funded withdrawals. Instant and Mini accounts carry a 1% floating PnL limit, which is restrictive for anyone who lets a position breathe. And withdrawals are capped at $10,000 per 30-day cycle, which matters if you scale. The 80% split is standard and rises with scaling. Payouts run every 10 business days rather than the usual 14 calendar days, which is slightly faster in practice.

Maven Trading FAQ

Smaller account sizes and tighter rules. A $2,000 account is a fraction of the risk a firm takes on a $100,000 one, and the EA ban, floating PnL cap and consistency rule all reduce the ways an account can cost them money. The price reflects the constraints, not a discount.
No. All orders must be placed manually, and accounts found running an automated strategy are closed. If you trade systematically, this is the wrong firm.
On Instant and Mini accounts, unrealised loss across open positions may not exceed 1% of the balance. It effectively forces tight stops and rules out letting a position breathe.
